Virtual office address for Google Business Profile: what Google allows (2026)

Usually no. Google’s guidelines say a rented address where the business does not operate — a virtual office — is not eligible for a Business Profile, and P.O. boxes and remote mailboxes are not accepted. Two cases pass: a service-area business may list a virtual office only if it is staffed in business hours, and a coworking office qualifies only with clear signage, customers received there and your own staff present during business hours.

What Google allows

  • Not eligible: a rented mailing address where you do not operate (“virtual office”); P.O. boxes and mailboxes at remote locations.
  • Service-area business: may list a virtual office only if it is staffed during business hours; otherwise hide the address and set a service area.
  • Coworking: allowed only with clear signage, customers received there in business hours and your own staff present in those hours.
  • Suites: allowed — physical address in Address Line 1, suite or mailbox number in Address Line 2.

What fits a $50–200 monthly budget

  • A plain business address ($10–100 a month) works for mail and many LLC filings, not for a Google profile.
  • Coworking membership with a desk, your signage and customer visits — the option Google names explicitly; check that the operator allows your sign and visitors.
  • Day or hourly office packages at business-centre operators — only if you actually work there in your stated hours, with signage; otherwise it is still a virtual office in Google’s terms.
  • No office at all: if you go to customers, a service-area profile without a public address is allowed and costs nothing.

What you risk

A profile at an ineligible address can fail verification (Google may ask for a video showing signage and the premises), be rejected, or be suspended later together with its reviews. We do not help to get around these rules.

Frequently asked questions

Not a plain virtual office: Google says a rented address where the business does not operate is not eligible. A service-area business may list a virtual office only if it is staffed during business hours.

Suite numbers are allowed: the physical address goes in Address Line 1 and the suite in Address Line 2. A P.O. box or remote mailbox is not acceptable.

Yes, if you travel to customers: set up a service-area profile and hide the address. Google allows one service-area profile per business.

No address guarantees verification. If the address breaks Google’s guidelines, the profile can be rejected or suspended, and reviews go with it.
